Please note
- There's no need to contact the Alliance Française de Montréal before taking the test.
- Anyone can take this test, not just students.
- The cost of the oral test will be deducted from the final registration fee if you choose to register for a course at the Alliance Française de Montréal.
- If you're a total beginner (never learned French), you don't need a test - you can register directly for level A1.1.
Contractual/regulatory information - Legal information
- I understand that an assessment via the oral placement test is mandatory prior to any first registration for a mini-group course at the Alliance Française de Montréal.
Exception:
- New students with no knowledge of French wishing to enroll in A1.1. No placement test is required.
- New students with a level certificate from an Alliance Française or Institut Français, or results from an official French exam (DELF, DALF, TCF, TEF) less than 2 years old. You will be asked to provide this certificate.
2. No claims will be accepted if students submit incorrect exam results, or if they decide not to take the oral placement test and enroll in a level or class that does not correspond to them.
By purchasing an oral placement test from the Alliance Française de Montréal:
- I understand that an oral placement test costs 20 CAD. This purchase is valid for one online interview only. It is non-transferable.
- I understand that this amount will be deducted from the registration fees for a course session paid no later than 3 months after the date of purchase of said product.
- I understand that once the oral test has been booked, a postponement to a later date is possible with 24 hours' notice. No cancellations or requests for rescheduling less than 24 hours before the scheduled test time will be accepted.
- If the customer is absent or late for the oral test without at least 24 hours' notice, the test is considered lost. No refund is possible.
- If I wish to retake an oral placement test, I will have to pay for one again at afmontreal.ca.
